NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool is tomorrow, Sat., Jan. 12 at 2PM Eastern, and it seems Triple H & team will be using the occasion of WWE’s latest brand’s first live Network special to make some big announcements.
Such as the British Strong Style trio of UK champ Pete Dunne, Trent Seven and Tyler Bate revealing during an appearance on Good Morning Britain that there’s a new Performance Center opening in the United Kingdom:
The Game retweeted the above clip, so you knew it wasn’t long before the formal announcement would come down. And sure enough, a short time later WWE’s official outlets reported on Triple H being joined by Finn Balor & Charlotte Flair at a press conference in London formally announcing the UK PC.
He’s said it before, but the WWE Executive Vice-President reiterated that this was another step toward his vision of global brands and facilities:
“It’s about going the world over and finding the greatest athletes and the greatest performers in any market we can. It’s an incredible undertaking, looking for the greatest athletes from around the world, bringing them to places like this that will be set up around the world to train that next generation of Superstars.”
As the competition for talent heats up, being able to train, learn, get medical treatment, and just hang out in a facility that looks like this will be a big selling point:
The official press release details more specifics about the company’s second PC:
“With 17,000 square feet, two training rings, world-class strength and conditioning equipment and versatile content creation infrastructure, the UK Performance Center will enable WWE to train athletes through a comprehensive program including in-ring training, physical preparedness and character development.”
NXT UK currently has 30 Superstars signed, and a few more big names on the way. This while All Elite, New Japan, Ring of Honor and others are aggressively pursuing wrestlers for their own expansion plans.
