Multiple sources have informed ESPN that the DAZN streaming service, which is set to launch in the U.S. soon, will be the American broadcast partner for the next season of the World Boxing Super Series. DAZN will stream all fights for the three tournaments set to begin this fall at bantamweight, junior welterweight, and a third division which has yet to be announced.
This deal with DAZN has been struck independently of the service’s recent 8-year, $1 billion dollar deal with Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn to provide boxing content to its platform, with only two years of that deal guaranteed.
The first season of the WBSS has featured the cruiserweight and super middleweight divisions, and has not yet concluded. The cruiserweight finals match between Oleksandr Usyk and Murat Gassiev is set to take place on July 21st is Moscow while the super middleweight finals between George Groves and Callum Smith has yet to be scheduled due to Groves injury in the semifinals.
