At Ring of Honor’s Honor United event in London, NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis showed up with the title and cut a deal with Cody Rhodes for the upcoming All In event on Sept. 1 in Chicago: If Cody wins the ROH world title, he’s got a match for the NWA world title at the big Labor Day weekend event.

This would seem to foreshadow Rhodes defeating Dalton Castle to win the ROH title and Aldis defeating the multiple challengers who await him over the next couple months.

Whether that’s a good or bad thing is up to the viewer but if nothing else, this is a solid angle to create as much hype as possible both for the two titles up for grabs — assuming that’s how it plays out — and the event itself.

Rhodes vs. Aldis isn’t exactly a marquee match in and of itself but the ROH world champion wrestling the NWA world champion with both titles on the line as the headlining attraction of the biggest independent show in many years — and maybe of all time — sounds like money.
