Molly McCann claimed the Cage Warriors flyweight title with a second-round TKO over Bryony Tyrell in the main event of Cage Warriors 90 Saturday night in Liverpool.
McCann was more comfortable than ever in front of her hometown crowd as she marched Tyrell down, tagging her with her lead left hand. Midway through the first round, “Meatball” laughed off the advances of her opponent and continued to land with ease.
After connecting with a big left hook in the second round, Tyrell looked to recover against the fence, but McCann chased her down and continued to throw shots until referee Marc Goddard stepped in to stop the action.
Speaking after the fight, McCann said she would like to defend the title in September in Liverpool.
