The Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran handled his business in the Bellator 193 headliner, as he was awarded a unanimous verdict over Fernando Gonzalez on Friday at the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, California. Larkin (19-7, 1-2 Bellator) swept the scorecards with 29-28, 30-27 and 30-27 marks from the judges, recording his first win in three starts under the Bellator flag.

Gonzalez (27-15, 7-2 Bellator) had no answer for the speed disadvantage at which he found himself. Larkin tore into the Team Quest rep with a variety of strikes, from jumping oblique kicks and standing elbows to simple but effective jab-cross combinations. Gonzalez had issues with output for much of the fight, as Larkin often answered his single punches and kicks with two or three of his own. “The Monsoon” had Gonzalez teetering on the brink of being stopped late in the third round, where he dazed the well-traveled Californian with a right hand and then unloaded with left hands, elbows and a jumping knee along the fence.
