If Anderson Silva and Glover Teixeira hold UFC belts at the same time, Lyoto Machida is in trouble. They’re both friends of Machida, who recently made the cut from light heavyweight to middleweight.

“If that happens, I retire,” said Machida to TATAME. “[Silva] told me he would not fight me for anything because we are like brothers. Anderson told me that he has other goals, but let’s see how things will go.”

While Machida took a first round head kick win in his middleweight debut against Mark Munoz, he’s still interested in competing at light heavyweight. “The Dragon” is a former title holder and is 20-4.

Silva will look to recapture the middleweight belt from Chris Weidman at UFC 168 and Teixeira is waiting on a date for champ Jon Jones. Machida has been linked to Gegard Mousasi for the February 8 card out of Brazil.
