Amir Khan’s dad has rubbished claims his son broke both hands in Saturday’s demolition of Carlos Molina.
One of Khan’s entourage posted pictures on Twitter immediately after the bout of the Bolton bomber’s swollen hands, alongside the caption: ‘Ouch @AmirKingKhan Both hands Fractured! Molina was one tough cookie.’
However, Khan’s dad, Shah, has blasted suggestion that his son’s next fight in April is in doubt due to injury, and snapped: ‘The claims are complete and utter rubbish.
‘After Amir beat Molina there was some swelling but at no time did we suspect anything was broken. Just to make certain he went to hospital to see the specialist and they gave him the all-clear.
‘If a boxer doesn’t finish a bout with bruised hands then he probably hasn’t thrown any punches — and Amir landed a lot against Molina.’
Khan forced a stoppage in the 10th round of his clash with Molina, and could possibly face Victor Ortiz on April 13.
